Whether you are just starting out or you have been in the real estate business for years you can benefit from the knowledge you can gain at a good real estate workshop. It is important to stay abreast of current trends and changes in real estate law so you are at the top of your career game.

If you are just starting out on your real estate career you will be looking for real estate education and real estate lessons offered by a reputable real estate licensing school. There are many such schools on the market as well as not so reputable real estate schools. Before making a decision talk to your state's real estate licensing board and research the real estate course options as well as interviewing successful graduates of the program you are considering.

What can you expect from a real estate school?

You can obtain a real estate license in your state, or other states, relatively easy as long and you know what to expect and what requirements you must fulfill. The process is usually different from state to state. It is good to know some basic information about obtaining a real estate license and the real estate education you will need from courses, lessons and even on-the-job training.

Some common misconceptions:

  • You can get a real estate license that is good anywhere in America . There is no such thing as a National real estate license. Each state has their own regulations and guidelines and enforces their own laws in the interest of protecting the consumer. In order to be licensed in any state you must pass that state's test.
  • I can take a 'typical' practice test to prepare me for the real estate exam online. Although you can take a so-called 'typical' test there is no way for that test to be truly considered typical. There are too many different factors to consider from state to state for any one test to be typical.
  • I can just get ready for the test without actually taking any real estate pre-license courses as long as I pass the test. Almost every state requires that you complete some form of real estate education or real estate courses as well as a number of required training hours. Each state's requirements will vary.
