These types of cosmetology schools will assist you in attaining a state license in the shortest, easiest, and cheapest way possible.

A job skill oriented cosmetology school will have beauty classes that fit into a more flexible curriculum. You can choose to specialize in a program of your choice such as electrologist, nail technician, esthetician or hairdresser. Although this type of cosmetology school offers flexibility in which program to choose the cosmetology class start and finish times are not as flexible. If you miss the start of one cosmetology course you will have to wait until the next one begins.

Degree granting cosmetology schools offer an associate degree granting option. This type of cosmetology school will resemble a college more closely than a beauty school. The different types of degrees offered will depend on the state.

Keep in mind that the location of the cosmetology school you choose will make all the difference in your level of education. A large metropolitan school will have more cutting edge teaching than a rural cosmetology school or beauty school might.
